DEATH OF WOMAN
Open Verdict Returned REPORT BY ANALYST By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Oct. 26. An open verdict was returned by Mr. G. Harper, S.M., to-day at an adjourned inquest concerning the death, of Mrs. Elizabeth Beattie, knows as Mrs. Burns, who was found dead oh July 8. An adjournment had been granted to obtain a further report froin the Government Analyst, Detective- McLeod stated that he made inquiries into the circumstances of Mrs. Beattie’s death and made a search of the house and surroundings for poison. He had taken possession of medicine bottles and pills, which were subsequently sent to the Dominion Analyst, from whom a negative report was received.
