ART UNION WANTED
Fostering of Athletics REQUEST BY COUNCIL It is the intention of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to make application for an art union to raise funds for the fostering of athletics among junior athletes and school children. At its monthly meeting last evening the following motion, which was moved by Mr. V. Hugo, was carried by the council: “That immediate application be made to the responsible authorities for the N.Z.A.A.A. to be added to the list of those desiring to augment their funds per medium of an art union, with a request for inclusion in the draw at the earliest possible moment; and that any monies obtained from such a source be created a trust fund or set aside for the sole and specific purpose of encouraging athletic exercises among junior athletes and school children between tbe ages of 9 aud 15 years."
