Jones and Miss Thelma Jones, Wellington, are staying with Mrs. W. S. Hughes, Christchurch. Mrs. Sidney Brice, Wadestown, Is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Noble-Campbell, Mahana. Mr. anti Mrs. Hutchinson, Auckland, accompanied by Mrs. Mariner and Miss Martin, left on Sunday to motor to Wellington. Mrs, E. Williams, Wellington, is visiting her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. Merriman, of Mangere East, Auckland. Mrs. H. G. Bell, Kelburn, left for Auckland yesterday on a short visit to her mother, Mrs. W. T. Kenderdlne, Remnera. Mrs. W. Pearce and Misses Alison Pearce, Nancy and Joan Wheeler and Joyce Nathan, will leave Wellington to-morrow for a week’s visit to the Chateau Tongariro. Mrs. E. Stevens and Miss Dorothy Stevens, of Palmerston North; Miss Alexa Stevens, of Wanganui; and Mr. Norman Stevens, Marton, are staying at Wainui, Nelson. Mrs. Van Asch and her niece, Miss Cynthia Fisher, of Christchurch, passed through Wellington yesterday on their. return from a visit to Australia. ■Mr. J. R. Sutcliffe, principal of Scots College, 'Wellington, and Mrs. Sutcliffe, are the guests of Mr. aud Mrs. Allan McFarlane, Fern Flats, Marton. They will return to Wellington on Sunday. Miss Carol West-Watson returned to New Zealand from England by the Niagara yesterday. She,will arrive in Wellington to-day and leave for her home in Christchurch to-night. Miss Sophie Watson, Palmerston North, and Miss Enid Bell, Lowry Bay, will stay with Sirs. Geoffrey Kingscote, Fendalton, Christchurch, for the Canterbury provincial championship golf tournament- at the end of September.
