PRAISED BY CLERGY
A STRIKING tribute was paid to a picture in Wellington recently when about 30 of Wellington’s clergy assembled to witness a private screening of the forthcoming Warner bros, production. “The Man Who Plajecl God,” featuring George Arliss. After the screening, those present agreed that the picture constituted a screen sermon of fascinating power. The Rev. J. Baird, president of the Ministers’ Association, said ; “I do not often attend motion pictures, but I can say that •The Man Who Played God’ is the cleanest and most true-to-life film I have ever seen.”
