“SEEKING A REST”
Chatterton Divorce TT is understood that Miss Ruth Chatterton, the £lOOO a week film star, and Mr. Ralph Forbes, her 27-years-old English husband, will seek a divorce in Reno, writes the Hollywood correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” Miss Chatterton, who visited London recently, and is now in Paris, is described as “seeking a rest from the domestic difficulties which beset her.” Her friends say that the prospective divorce is a mutual arrangement and that each is prepared to accommodate the other in the matter. Gossips say that no other man or woman is involved in the case and that the couple retain the friendliest feelingstowards each other. They were married in New York in December, 1924, when Miss Chatterton was playing the leading part \n a musical comedy, “The Magnolia Lady,” with Mr. Forbes as her leading man. Miss Auriol Lee, the English actress, was one of the bridesmaids. The honeymoon lasted one day. Miss Chatterton is 39. When in London she visited Miss Auriol Lee at the latter’s flat in the Strand. She told a “Daily Mail” woman correspondent that she hoped to forsake the films for ever and appear in a play by an English author in London.
