SHOP ROBBED

Theft of Tobacco and Cigarettes ENTIRE STOCK TAKEN When Miss Helen Hyam arrived at her hairdressing shop at 113 Vivian Street yesterday morning, she. found that tjjieves had robbed her during the night of her entire stock of tobacco and cigarettes. Miss Hyam has had her own small shop for about six months, and has not kept a large stock. Nevertheless, what was taken was valued at £lO or more, and half of it was new stock bought two days .ago. Besides being a mean theft, it was also a particularly thorough one. A passage-way leads down at the side of Miss Hyam’s shop, and one of the windows opens on to it. This window was jemmied and raised to allow entrance to be gained. Once inside, the thieves worked carefully, and made no disorder. The whole stock of tobacco and cigarettes was taken, and only the "dummies’” which are used for display purposes, were left. The intruders left nothing behind them, not even fingerprints, and it is thought that they must have worn gloves. Miss Hyam is of the opinion also that they must have gained previous knowledge of the arrangement of the shop by visiting it
