AFTERNOON PARTY
Mrs. P. Myers Entertains .Mrs. P. Myers gave a delightful afternoon party yesterday at her home in Hobson Street, for the "Red Gross civilian blind. In spite of the bad weather, it was a large: and very happy party, and the guests greatly enjoyed their outing and the opportunity of meeting, each other and chatting together. Mrs. Myers was wearing a becoming frock of embroidered scarlet georgette. Assisting her to receive her guests were Mrs. Israel, the Misses Van Staveren. arid Miss Ida Myers. In the large drawing-room exquisite tall blue irises were arranged on the mantelpiece, and a glowing fire provided a cheerful atmosphere. Mrs. Myers sang some charming songs, which were much appreciated. They included “Mignon,” “Varrei,” “Homing” and “Danny Boy.” Everyone took part enthusiastically in singing well-known choruses. Old Irish .favourites such as “Killarney” were particularly popular. Afternoon tea was served in the dining-room, where bowls of dainty primulas decorated the long table.
