Due Auckland a.m. Thursday The Union Company has received a wireless message from the Waihemo. en route from Los Angeles via the Cook Islands, reporting that she expects to reach Auckland on Thursday morning. She has fruit from the Cook Islands for Auckland and Pacific Coast cargo /or discharge at Auckland. Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and Australia, and is due here on August 23. OTOKIA REPORTS. The Union Company has received a further wireless message from its motortanker Otokia, en route from San Pedro to Wellington with bulk fuel oil, reporting that she expects to arrive in the stream at 8 a.m. to-morrow. WAINUI AT BLUFF. The Union Company advises that the Wainui, from Melbourne, reached Bluff at 1 p.m. yesterday. She was to have left there again last night for Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington to complete discharge. The Wainui is due here on Thursday and will leave again the following day for Melbourne via Bluff. ZEALANDIA AT AUCKLAND. The Huddart-Parker steam Zealandia is due at Auckland this morning from Sydney. She will leave there again on Friday on the return trip to Sydney. MAUNGANUI AT SYDNEY. The' Union Company’s Maunganui, from Wellington, is due at Sydney this morning. . She will leave there again on Friday for Wellington and Auckland and is due here next Tuesday morning. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Conqueror was delayed at Wellington yesterday by rain, and is now to leave here at noon to-day for Lyttelton, to continue discharging and loading. KARETU AT AUCKLAND. The Union Company’s Karetn. from Newcastle and Sydney, via Fiji and Tonga, reached Auckland at midnight on Sunday. She is to leave there again on Thursday for Newcastle and Sydney, to loafl again for Fiji, Tonga, and Auckland. THE NORFOLK. The Federal steamer Norfolk is scheduled to leave London on Thursday, to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, for Suva, Lyttelton. Dunedin, Bluff, and Timaru. She is due at Suva on September 26. and at Lyttelton on October 3. THE CITY OF DELHI. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer City of Delhi is scheduled to leave New York on Thursday for Auckland, Welling- • ton, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. She is due at Auckland toward the end of September. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine is to leave Wellington at noon to-day for Napier and Auckland to complete her Homeward loading. She is scheduled to clear Auckland finally at daybreak on August 24 for London via the Panama Canal. SOMERSET’S DEPARTURE. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal steamer Somerset is now scheduled to clear Bluff finally on Thursday for London via Cape Horn, Montevideo and Dakar. THE MARIPOSA. The Oceanic Company’s liner Mariposa, from Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, is due at Los Angeles to-day and at San Francisco to-morrow. She is scheduled to leave San Francisco again on August 26 and Los Angeles the following day for Honolulu, Pago Pago, Suva, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne, and is due at Auckland on September 12. CAMBRIDGE DISCHARGING. The Federal steamer Cambridge is to leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to complete discharge of her cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool. TARANAKI’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw, Savill motor-ship Taranaki is to leave Wellington this afternoon for Gisborne and Auckland to complete her Homeward loading. Evidence of returning confidence m Australia is afforded in the large cargoes arriving from overseas. Import figures show a distinct upward trend compared with the figures for the same, period last year (states the Melbourne Age ). On August 3 three vessels brought SSSS tons of general merchandise from the United Kingdom. They were the Hurunui and Kia Ora and the motor-ship Port Fairy. There has been no evidence of a decrease in outward cargoes, and vessels are leaving there full to the hatch covers with Australian produce.
