Standard Insurance Co., Ltd. DIVIDEND MAINTAINED , As announced iu this column last Wednesday, the Standard Insurance Company, Ktd., is paying a final dividend of 1/3 per share, making 12} per cent, for the year ended June 30. At the meeting of shareholders at Dunedin on September 5, the directors will submit the following report:— The net revenue for the year amounted to £187,350/2/2. The "expenditure was £141,229/8/1, leaving a balance of £46,120/14/1, to which has to be added the balance carried forward from last year, viz., £23,058/19/5. making a total pf £69,179/13/6. From this an interim dividend was paid in March last amounting to £12,500, leaving a balance of £56,679/13/6. This has been dealt with as follow:—Written off office premises, £1600; appropriated for depreciation of securities, £5000; donated to staff provident fund, £1600; allocated to reserve fund, £12,000. It is recommended that the balance, £36,479/13/6, be dealt with as follows: Pay a dividend for half-year ending June 30. 1932, at the rate of 1/3 per share, £12,500; and carry forward to next year £23,979/13/6. Full provision has been made in the accounts for all ascertained losses to the close of the year. The dividend of 1/3 per share now recommended. if approved by the shareholders. will be payable at the .company’s offices immediately after the meeting, and at branches upon receipt of advice.
