CHARGES DISMISSED
Purchases by Clerk NOT FALSE PRETENCES Dominion Special Service. New Plymouth, August 15. Four charges alleging that he obtained women’s underwear by falsa pretences from various Taranaki firms were preferred against Arthur Richard Wallis, postal clerk at Eltham, in the Supreme Court to-day. He was found not guilty on all charges. It was alleged that he ordered the goods by post, signing false names to the letters. The defence was that the goods were supplied on credit in the ordinary course of business, and that Wallis in buying underwear for his wife did not like to use his own name.
