ALDERSHOT TATTOO RECORD.

There were remarkable scenes at Aidershot on June 18 on the occasion of the last performance of the tattoo, at which the Queen was present. All previous records for attendance and for the number of cars parked were broken, more than 80.000 spectators attending. In spite of the fnet that nearly two hours before the programme began “House Full” notices were exhibited on huge boards on the sides of all the main roads for twenty-five miles out. crowds of spectators poured into Aidershot, and the gates were closed when 52.000 had been packed into the enclosures. Many thousands were unable to gain admission. There were 12,560 vehicles in the car park, yet, under the able traffic control, these were quickly on the move again after the show. The total attendance of spectators at the two rehearsals auil six evening performances of the tattoo amounted to 402,000, and cars parked numbered 52,000. Last year's figures, which then constituted a record, were 322,000 spectators and 45,000 vehicles.
