DOGS KILL FOWLS
Depredations at Petone TWO ALSATIANS DETECTED During the past week a number of fowls have been killed in Petone, presumably by Alsatian dogs. On Wednesday night 73 fowls were killed in various parts of Petone. About 3.45 on Thursday morning a resident of Tennyson Street, disturbed by a noise in his fowl-run, investigated and saw two Alsatian dogs escaping from the pen, where he found 18 fowls had been killed. Within the past week some 150 fowls have been killed, but on no occasion have they been eaten.
