Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, August 12, 1932, 4 p.m. The recent northern disturbance has practically filled up and an intense anticyclone covers the whole of the New Zealand area, its centre still being located off the Canterbury coast. Winds light to moderate south-easterly to north-easterly. Seas: Still some southerly swell between Castlepoint and East Cape; otherwise smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate but freshening north-east winds in the eastern Tasman Sea; seas moderate but later rising. . , , Weather fair to fine generally, but still a few isolated clearing showers on the coast between Cape Palliser and East Cape. Cold tonight but temperatures gradually becoming milder.
