HUTT VALLEY NEWS

Having made little headway for some years, the Hutt Valley Producers’ Association, Ltd., experienced a decided change for the last year when receipts totalled £l7OO. Extensive repairs are being carried out on the Sliverstream railway bridge. Large beams about a foot square are being used for strengthening purposes. During hoisting operations these beams are raised from the road, where a workman is stationed with a red flag to direct tlie traffic. Mention was made in the report presented at the meeting of the Hutt Valley Producers’ Association, Ltd., that the association, through the cooperation of members, had been awarded the silver gilt medal for the display of vegetables at the autumn show of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society.
