WONDER WOMAN SINGER OF 80.
A concert singer who took her first leSson in voice production when she was 79 years old and now, at the age of 80, possesses the soprano voice of a girl of 18, made an appearance at Cwmdare, Wales, on June 22. She is Mrs. E. Parfitt, of Porthcawl, who as a concert artist is probably unique. •. ' Tall, erect, with silver‘hair and rosy cheeks, Mrs. Parfitt looks only half her age. She sang “Several soprano songs witli ease and charm. She stated that site had sung in choirs al! hrr life, but did not decide to be a soloist until she was 79, / “/.;... :■ ' ■ ' Mr. Dan Price, senior professor of singing ht the Royal College of Music, said: “Mrs. Parfitt astonishes me by the wonderful purity of her voice and sustaining power. I have never id my long experience cotae across so remarkable a case. One would think, from her voice, that she was eighteen, not eighty.”
