UNEMPLOYED TOTALS
Increase in Past Week FIGURES UP TO JULY 25 An increase of 57 in the registered number of unemployed throughout New Zealand is recorded in the figures for the week ended July 25, released by the Acting-Minister of Employment, Hon. A Hamilton, yesterday. The total number on the books of labour bureaux was 55,203, as compared with 55,146 'for the preceding seven days. Of the total number of registered unemployed, 43,631 were engaged under the No. 5 relief scheme. This left 11,572 unplaced or standing down. The following table indicates the registrations during the past six weeks: —
