30 YEARS BEDRIDDEN
Home of Compassion Inmate DEATH AT AGE OF 87 Mrs. Mary Walsh, who had been an inmate of the Home of Compassion for 30 years, passed away yesterday morning, at the age of 87 years. Born in Galway, Ireland, in 1844, the late Mrs. Walsh, whose maiden name was Walsh, came to New Zealand 50 years ago, and settled in Wellington, marrying the late Mr. Thomas Walsh. Becoming ill 30 years ago, Mrs. Walsh entered the Home of Compassion in Buckle Street, and was bedridden until the time of her death She remained in the Buckle Street home for. 20 years, and in 1921 was moved to the Home of Compassion at Island Bay.
The deceased was well known to visitors to the Home of Compassion, and she was noted for her ready wit. and bright and cheerful disposition. The fun\'al will leave St. Francis de Sales Church, Island Bay, at'9.3p a.m. to-day.
