BODY WASHED UP

Karaka Bay Discovery UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN No One Reported Missing The body of a woman, between 50 and 60 years of age, was washed ashore at Karaka Bay yesterday afternoon, and was discovered by Mr. C. Wood, Seatoun Heights, at 3.15 o’clock. Nobody has been reported missing, and the body has not been identified. Deceased was sft lin. in height, of medium build and short dark hair, turning grey. Both sets of teeth are false. She was dressed in a sky blue overcoat, half-lined with fawn crepe de chene, fastened with two buttons, and with a black collar. Other garments were a woollen cardigan jacket with two pockets, pink underskirt and corsellette, and a woollen combination branded “William Wick, Vancouver.” She was wearing black patent leather shoes, with two pairs ' of stockings, fawn and black. Around her neck was a light amber-coloured bead necklace, and she was also wearing a brooch. Apair of glasses were in a case, which bore the name “Johnstone and Hazlett, chemist and opticians, Dunedin.” The body had not been in the water more than two days, and was washed ashore on a jagged, rocky part of the coast. There are no cliffs in ’ the vicinity, and it is thought that the body must have drifted from the south. It was removed to the city morgue.
