Wet Saturday and Fine Sunday
Rain fell at fairly frequent intervals In Wellington on Saturday, but Sunday broke with a clear sky and there was bright sunshine all day. Fine weather prevailed at Auckland on Saturday, but cloudy, threatening conditions in the afternoon were followed by a boisterous south-west wind, and occasional-light showers yesterday. Saturday was fine at Dunedin, with a strong north-east wind, which dropped at nightfall and was followed by misty rain. Some heavy showers fell during the night, and the weather yesterday was damp and unpleasant, though not cold. There was no wind. The barometer was low, the reading last night being 2i).45in. The weather at Christchurch during the week-end was fine and mild, and almost windless. The winter season to date has been much milder than usual, and although there have been a few heavy frosts there has been less rainfall than usual,
