Reports allege that the Japanese beat the priest unconscious, dragged him to a deserted stream bed. and shot him, burying the body in the sand. Photographs of the corpse reveal that Father Rapp was shot through the heart and abdomen, and bayoneted in about thirty places. The German Legation here has Instructed the German Consul-General at Mukden to proceed to Chientao to Investigate.
