Ministerial. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, spent a busy,.day yesterday arranging with Cabinet the filial details of the Government’s policy for presentation at the Ottawa Conference. A meeting of Cabinet was held late in Hie afternoon, and conversations were continued in the evening. . The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, attended the opening of the Winter Show yesterday. The Hon. R. Masters, Minister of Industries and Commerce, was present at the opening of the Winter Show yesterday with other members -of the Ministry. .Mr. D. Jones, chairman of the Meat Board, arrived from Christchurch yesterday. Messrs. T. G. Young, 11. 8. Gilberd, and G. W. Harty have been reappointed members of the Opticians Board. Mr. F. Waite lias been appointed chairman of the Mortgagors’ Liabilities Adjustment Commission for Otago. He replaces Mr. C. It. Smith, who recently resigned. Messrs. L. T. Daniell and J. Georgettl have been reappointed members of the Wellington Laud Board. A Gazette notice issued last evening fixes the term of office for two/years from to-day, June 24. Mr. A. H. Townsend, of the firm of Messrs. Gillett and Johnson, bell founders,. Croydon, England, who installed the Wellington War Memorial Carillon, is visiting the South Island. ’ Ho will return to Wellington next Monday, and leaves New Zealand for Chicago on July 5. Mr. S. Takle, president of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association; Mr. I. Woolf, of the Christchurch Manufacturers’ Association; Mr. J. Pascoe. Christchurch; and Mr. G. W. Reid, of Otago, who Inis been elected to represent the New Zealand manufacturers at the Ottawa Conference, were visitors at the Winter Show yesterday. Mr. IV. 11. Price, who has been appointed to the Wellington Harbour Board representing payers of dues bn British ships, vice Captain Charles McArthur, resigned, was welcomed by the chairman, Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, at Wednesday’s meeting of the board. Mr. Norwood said that he felt quite sure that Mr. Price’s advice would be given freely in the managerial affairs of the board. Mr. Price said that he was looking forward to being associated with the board with a great deal of pleasure. Mr. Benno Moiseiwitsch, pianist, is at the Hotel St. George. / Mr. W. Wallace, Auckland, president of the Hospital Board’s Association, is at the Hotel St. George. < Mr. A. E. Cooper, of Christchurch, and Mr. George It. Hutchinson. Millward and Dr. U. C. Williams, Wanganui, are at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. P. C. Penberthy, Dunedin; Mr. R. 11. Billens and Mr. S. A. Goldingham, Palmerston North, are at the Hotel St. George. Mr. G. L. Morris, Wanaka; Mr. A. McKay, Wairarapa; Mr. R. G. Crawford, Gisborne; Mr. C. H. Bosworth, Palmerston North; Mr. J. L. Weir, Eltham: Mr. J. Bacon, Blenheim; and Mr. G. D. Vincent, Christchurch, are at the Grand Hotel.
