Hewitt, S.M., has been appointed chairman of tbe Railways Appeal Board for one year from April 14. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Cabot, of Adelaide, are at present in Auckland. After a tour of the North Island they will leave here for Sydney on April 22. f’rofessor J. Macmillan Brown, Chancellor of the University of New Zealand, and Dr. J. Hight, of Canterbury College, left Wellington for the south last night. Commander V. A. C. Crutchley, V.C., of H.M.S. Diomede, and'Captain C. S. Thomson, R.N., second member of the Naval Board, have been appointed honorary naval aides-de-camp on the staff of tbe Governor-General,. Lord Bledisloe. Mr. H. C. McArthur, Dunedin: Mr. J R. Rendall and Mr. J. S. Milne, Auckland: Mr. W. H. Cattell, Birmingham; Mr. A. E. Copeland, Christchurch; Mr. E. Bishop, Blenheim; and Mr. H. Montague, Bay of Islands, are at the Hotel St. George. Mr. A. 11. Newsey and Mr. T. Wallace. Sydney; Mr. H. W. Beale, Rotorua : and Mr. W. T. Castauig. Auckland, are now at the Hotel Grand Central.
