BOSWORTH TERRACE

Money for Improvements QUESTION OF REFUND A claim by property-owners of Bosworth Terrace for a return money for improvemnets which were carried out in Bosworth Terrace, which, together with certain other streets, was taken over by the city some years ago, was mentioned at the meeting of the City Council last evening. It appears’that Bosworth Terrace was omitted from the Bill which was passed by Parliament, and that the money subscribed by the Bosworth Terrace properly owners for the Improvements was not. fully spent. Councillor W. IT. Beunctt said that this matter had been before the council for the last seven or eight years. The people affected had paid in a certain amount of money, and he thought that they were suffering an injustice, and were entitled to n refund. The Mayor said that the refund, if made, might affect the whole of the people concerned. It might, too. involve other streets. After all. there was nothing to show that there was ahv intention of taking over Bosworth 'Terrace. The question was. Were there any other .streets under 20ft. in width omitted from the Bill? The Jlayor thought the matter should bie further inquired into. If only one street, were involved il might not be very much, but if there were a lot it was a different matter. Tt was agreed to deal with the matter finally at the next meeting.
