Weismuller (America) and Charliel (Australia) met in the final of the 406 metres free style swimming championship at the Olympic Games m Paris in July, 1924. The race was wen by Weismuller who beat Arm- Borg (Sweden) by 1 ”-ssee. Charlton, who finished t lin’d, took a second longer. The time. omin. 4 l-escc., was a world record.
