Mrs. William Day, Christchurch, arrived yesterday for a short visit to Wellington. Mrs. V. I". Boyle, Timaru, has returned home from a short visit to Wellington. Miss B. E. Baughan, Christchurch, has come to Wellington to attend the conference of the Howard League. Mrs. F. N. R. Meadows, of “Eastward. Ho,” Lower Hutt, Is the guest of Mrs. F. E. Allen, 'Takapuna, Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Almao, of Fiji, are visiting Wellington and arc the guests of Mrs. H. Parkinson, Wadestown.
Mrs. Percy Wynn-Williams, St. Albans, Christchurch, arrived In Welling-' ton yesterday, and will spend a short holiday here. Miss Jean Stevenson, organising secretary, of the Young Women’s Christian'. Association in New Zealand, was the guest of honour at a luncheon party in Dunedin on Monday, when girls representing the city’s, various business departments were present. Among the guests at the Wanaka Hotel, Pembroke, last week were:—; Mrs. E. A. Bray and Mr. J. Edwards, England; Mr. A. Spaull, Canada; MisS T. L. Hitchens, Mr. W. H. Murray, and Mr. O. D. Smith, Australia; Mr. R, Richards, Rotorua; Mrs. J. H. Williams, Feilding; Miss W. A. Wright,' Levin; Mrs. SV. B. Montgomery, Wellington. ■ Mrs. M. T. Phillips and Mrs. W. H. H. Young, who have been president and secretary respectively of the Stratford branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union for several years, relinquished their offices at the annual meeting of the branch on, Tuesday. Resolutions expressing appreciation of their services were carried, arid each was elected an.honorary life member, Mrs. H. E. Nowell (Ngaere) was elected president and Mrs. W. Power secretary..
