“YEOMEN OF THE GUARD"
To-morrow night the J. C. Williamson Gilbert and Sullivan Company will present the beautiful comic opera "The Yeomen of the Guard.” in which they scored one of their best triumphs during its previous season in Wellington. The characterisation of Jack Point b.v Ivan Menzies will always be remembered as one of the best and most artistic performances the New Zealand stage lias known. "The Yeomen" is brimming over with delicious melodies which would do credit to grand opera. The part of Elsie Maynard will be played by Marie Bremner. and the cast includes Leo. Darnton. Gregory Stroud, John Ralston. Bernard Manning. Evelyn Gardiner. Mary Hot ham. Tom Broderick, and others. The chorus work is an outstanding feature of this production. On .Saturday afternoon and night, and on Monday and Tuesday nights, the company will stage Alfred Bcllier's delightful comic opera, "Dorothy." “The Mikado" will be played on Wednesday afternoon, and as n grand gala farewell performance. “The Gondoliers" will be staged on Wednesday night.
