Mortgagors’ & Tenants’ Relief A statement allegedly made by the Hon. R. Masters in the Legislative Council on March 24, that “he was unable to understand tbe objections to that Potion of the Mortgagors’ and Tenants Relief Bill dealing with the personal covenants, because he had received no protest from those who would be affected by these provisions.” was challenged by the Associated Chambers of Commerce yesterday. . , , The association stated that it had protested strongly against these provisions of the Bill, and addeel: "It is within the knowledge of the association that a number of similar private and influential representations were made to the Prime Minister on this matter.”
