BREAKFAST IN BED
Sir Robert McAlpine, the head of the conti'tieting firm of Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons, is 85 —and a very unconventional 85. When a correspondent saw him lately at the Bournemouth Hotel, where he is spending the winter, he said:— “I do not believe in early rising as being essential to long life. I have not had breakfast out of bed 10 times in the last 30 years, and I don't intend to. Although I believe in hard work. I am not in favour of a long day of it. I think eight hours are enough. I eat three apples every morning aud I am practically a teetotaller.”
