NEW ZEALAND PRICES
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated April 9, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — • Fruit: Apple trade quiet, with American in good supply, but moving slowly. First arrivals of Australian in the market this week. Fair inquiry for New Zealand. The Otaio consignment generally in good condition, but most lines of Cox’s Orange and some Dunn’s Favourite show bitter pit. Present quotations for New Zealand apples are: — Cox’s Orange, 14/- to 18/-. Alfriston, 11/- to 12/-. Dunn’s Favourite and Worcester Pearmain, 10/- to 12/-. Gravenstein, 8/- to 10/-. Pears: Selling freely. Beurre Bose and Comice, 12/- to 16/-; others, 11/- to 15/-.
