Riots at Allahabad
RUNNING FIGHT IN ROAD

Delhi, April 9.
Deliberate defiance of a magistrate’s order banning a procession led to a grave outbreak of rioting at Allahabad. Mrs. Motilal Nehru was struck on the head fiy a stone and a number of police were injured. A constable bad an arm blown off by a bomb Hung from a railway bridge. The mob kept up a running light along the road. Electric lines and standards were pulled down and the city was plunged in darkness for hours. Armed pickets are now in control.
