Wellington Season REPORTS FROM CLUBS Large fields and enthusiastic followings set tbe 1932 Wellington harrier season off iu full swing on Saturday, when each of the six clubs staged its official run. Officials of clubs and members of the harrier sub-committee were at the run of tbe newly-formed Presbyterian Harrier Club. Reports of the runs are as follow ; — Presbyterian. The official opening of the Presbyterian Harrier Club was held at St. James’s scboolxpom, Adelaide Road, where the members, supporters, and visitors were the guests of the Young Women's Bible Class. ..... Watkins, club captain, welcomed the visitors, who included Mr. C. A. Willis, chairman of the Harrier Sub-commit-tee. Greetings on behalf of Olympic, Wellington, Scottish, Brooklyn, Hutt Valiev. and Masterton clubs were received from representatives present. Thirty members took part in a run via Brooklyn. Mornington, and Berhampore, the trail being laid by K. Webb and T. Moncrieff. A run-in from .Stoke Street resulted iu a win for A. G. Gunn. IV. S. Scott being second, and L. Johnson third. After the run-in about sixty members and friends were entertained to afternoon tea. Olympic.

The trail, laid by Porter and Chandler, led through tbe Botanical Gardeus, down Tinakori Road, over the hill north of the wireless station, and down to Wilton’s Bush. From there the runners came to the road at the end of tbe cemetery, over the viaduct, and home. Some 28 runners were divided into two packs, and a fairly slow pace was maintained until tbe two packs converged about two miles from home. Things were then taken easy until about Lit) yards from the kiosk, when a run-in was held, and resulted in a win for Garn bam, followed closely by Strong and Lovatt. Scottish. A record attendance marked the Scottish club’s opeuing run at Island Bay. Fifty-five members participated, bettering by seven the muster at the opening run of last season. After having been addressed by the club president, Mr. AV. Ballantync, sen., Mr 0. A. Willis, chairman of the harrier sub-committec, Mr. Baudmet, and the patron, Mr. R. W. McViliy, who officially declared the club season open, tbe runners, divided into two packs, followed a four mile and a half trail selected by A. L. Stevens and G. I arkhouse. A run-in over the last 800 yards resulted in a comfortable win for C. Brown, with C. Thompson second and L. Sinclair third.
