Hard Labour for Canadian ECHO OF MINERS’ STRIKE Vancouver, March 24. A message from Estevan; Saskatchewan. states that Mrs. Annie Buller, bf Toronto, a Communist, was sentenced to one year’s hard labour and lined 500 dollars, or, in the alternative, an additional six months’ imprisonment, for incitement to strike in a riot which claimed three coal miners’ lives in a clash whth the police last September. William Scarlett, who appeared on the same charge, was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment.
