Inter-Varsity Rowing.— The eight-oar rowing race, a feature of the inter-’Varsity tournament now in progress, aroused a great deal of interest on Saturday. (1) Canterbury the winning crew: H. Waymouth (str.), S. B. Wallace (7), M. Hunter (C), H. R. Watts (5), T. R. Evans (4), R. M. Simmers (3). D. M. Patterson (2), L. L. Hosking (bow), and E. H. Carew (cox). (2) A portion of the large crowd on Taranaki Street Wharf. (3) Canterbury leading Wellington and Auckland soon after the start off Point Jerningham. —“Dominion” photos.
