WEDDING

Bradey—Baker - The marriage was solemnised recently at St. Alban’s Church, Pahautanui, of Effie Veronica, sixth daughter of Jlr. and Mrs. W. Baker, and AVllliam Kenneth, only son of Mr. and Mrs. AV. Bradev, Pahautanui. The Rev. Swaianson officiated. Mrs. Ross and Mr. A. Bradey, sen., played the “Wedding Jlarch” and other appropriate music. The church was decorated with pink stock and pink and blue hydrangeas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a 5 cream lace sleeveless gown over cream satin. The tight-fit-ting bodice had a circular basque at the waist and a fully flared skirt hanging in soft folds to the ground. A lace coatee was also worn with long tightfitting sleeves. The embroidered tulle veil was fastened with a wreath of orange blossom buds, and was worn over the face as the bride entered the church. The long court train, lined with shell pink, was embroidered with a true lovers’ 9 knot, and wedding bells of silver and pearls. A sheaf of cream gladioli, roses, and maidenhair fern completed her toilet. When leaving the church the bride was presented with a cream satin horseshoe by little Jlargaret Hook. The bridesmaids,.Misses Ethel Crosby (chief) and Hazel Baker (sister of the bride) wore frocks alike of pink and blue floral taffetas, with long tightfitting bodices, with two flared frills marking the waistline, and fully flared skirts reaching to the ground; picture felt hats were worn to tone. Their sheaves were of pink and blue galdioli, roses, and hydrangeas. Jlr. Edgar Hook was best man and Mr. Thomas Baker groomsman.. The wedding reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, the large room being massed with pink stocks, gladioli, and flowering pot plants. The bride’s table was adorned with apricot-tinted roses. Jlrs. W. Bradey received the guests wearing a navy blue lace gown, relieved with beige, a coatee trimmed with fur, also a navy felt hat with a beige feather. Her bouquet was of pink carnations and rosebuds. Jlrs. W. Baker wore a black lace ensemble and a picture hat to tone, relieved with fawn. Her bouquet was of deep red roses. Later the bride and,bridegroom left for a tour of the north, the bride wearing a lido blue ensemble and Baukok straw hat with feather mount, her shoes and handbag to match. With this was worn a skunk fur Stole, the gift of the bridegroom.
