Sttvill steamer Mahnna was to have left Timaru yesterday for Lyttelton and Bluff, to complete her homeward loading. She is scheduled to clear Bluff finally on February 13 for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. NEW MATSON LINER | Mariposa’s Maiden Trip i The new 19,000-ton Matson liner Mariposa is scheduled to leave San Francisco to-day aud Los Angeles to-morrow, on her maiden voyage. The Mariposa is coming via Honolulu, Pago Pago, and Suva, and is due at Auckland on Saturday, February 20. She will leave there again on February 22 for Sydney. The Mariposa will not return by the regular route to Sail Francisco, but will make a cruise in the Pacific, and from Sydney will return to San Francisco via Port Moresby, Thursday Island, Macassar. Batavia, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, Hongkong, Shanghai, Chinwangtao, Myajima, Kobe, Yokohama, Honolulu, and Hilo, arriving at San Francisco on April 23. The Mariposa carries only two classes of passengers, first class and cabin class, and on her trials averaged 23 knots. Her sister ship, the Monterey, is at present under construction, and is expected to enter the service later this year. MAKURA- LEAVES RAROTONGA. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that the R.M.S. Makura, from Sydney and Wellington, left Rarotonga at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday for Papeete and San Francisco, where she is due on February 12. THE ANTINOUS. G. H. Scales, Ltd., advise that the steamer Alitinous is to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, and is due here on Thursdfiy, to discharge asphalt from Tampico for the Shell Oil Company. She will later proceed to Lyttelton, Wanganui, and New Plymouth, to complete discharge. THE MLBOURNE MARU. The O.S.K. Line motor-ship Melbourne Maru was scheduled to leave Moji yesterday for Hong-Kong, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Wellington and Auckland, and is due here about March 1 The Federal Company are the local agents. HUNTINGDON LOADING. In ballast from Falmouth the Federal steamer Huntingdon reached Auckland late on Sunday night to commence her Homeward loading to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. She is to leave Auckland again to-morrow, morning for Gisborne, Napier, Wanganui, Wellington and Napier to complete. The vessel is due here on February 18, and is scheduled to clear Napier finally on March 1 for London, via the Panama Canal. THE OTAIO. Running to the agency of the Federal Company the New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-ship Otaio is to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington to continue discharge of her cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool. She is due here on Thursday mqrning, and will later proceed to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff to complete discharge. KALINGO IN PORT. The Union Company’s Kalingo! is due at Wellington at 6 a.m. to-day from Tortland, and will berth at the Taranaki Street Wharf to complete discharge of her cargo From Adelaide, Edithburg, and Melbourne. She will later proceed to Greymouth to load for Sydney. MARAMA DUE 7 A.M. TO-DAY. The Union Company has received a wireless message from the Marama, bound from Sydney to Wellington, reporting that she expects to arrive in the stream at 7 o’clock this morning. She will berth about 9 o’clock at No. 1 north Queens Wharf. The Marama is timed fo leave here again at 3 p.m. on Friday, on the return trip to Sydney , THE MELBOURNE MARU. The Federal Company advises that the O.S.K. Line motor-ship Brisbane Maru is now to leave Wellington at noon to-day for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday morning. She is expected to leave is due here about March 1. lhe Federal Brisbane, and Japan. PORT MELBOURNE COMPLETING. The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Melbourne was to have left Gisborne late last night for Auckland, to complete her homeward loading. She is scheduled to clear the northern port finally on Saturday for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. PORT BOWEN LOADING. The O. and D. Line steamer Port Bowen reached New Plymouth early yesterday morning from Port Kembla. to commence her homeward loading. She is due at Wellington to-morrow for further loading, and will leave here again on Friday for Bluff and Port Chalmers, to complete. She is scheduled to clear Port Chalmers finally on February 17 for London, via Cape Horn and Montevideo. MAHIA TO LOAD. The Shaw. Savili Company advises that the Mahia is to leave Brisbane on February 11 for Opua, where she is due on February 16 to commence her homeward loading. - She will later complete at Auckland, Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington. The Mahia is due here on March 2, and is scheduled to clear this port finally on March 8 for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. I TAINUI FURTHER DELAYED. The Shaw. Savili Company advises that its liuer Tainui has been further delayed at Wanganui by heavy weather, and is now due at Wellington on Saturday, to complete her homeward loading. She is scheduled to clear this port finally on Ffibruary 10 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain V. G. Webb, marine superintendent of the Union Company, is at present on holiday leave. Captain R. Huntly has been appointed to the Kakariki. relieving Captain E. J. C. Gibson for holidays. Mr. J. Ritchie has joined the Komata as chief officer; Mr. R. Tulloch is now second officer, and Mr. J. Mac Neil has been appointed third officer. Mr. R. N. Turner is joining the ara as second officer, relieving Mr. G. H. Kime for holidays. Mr. W. Kehoe is now second officer of the Kini. THE OPAWA.
