WATERSIDE HOLIDAY
Holding-up of Cargo PROTEST AT WANGANUI Dominion Special Service. Wanganui, January 14. The holiday taken by Wellington, watersiders yesterday has, it is stated, caused a considerable amount of complaint from local importers and shippers, as there was a large quantity of cargo on the ships tied up at Wellington wharves, consigned to Wanganui, particularly bn the Tainui. As some of the gopds were important, the loss of a day in delivering them was considered to be serious. . Some businessmen consider that watersiders should take their annual picnic holiday on some public holiday, such as Anniversary Day, thus following the example of railwaymen and other transport workers.
