CHEAP RAILWAY TRIPS
Visit to the Wairarapa The new low fares on the railway between Wellington and Masterton have proved popular. They were introduced last spring, but already over 5000 more passengers have been carried by train in this area than in the corresponding period of the previous year. In view of the increased traffic, the demand for Sunday trains at the same low fares has now been complied with, and from next Sunday, Wellington and Hutt Valley people will be able to visit Wairarapa by a 9 a.m. fast train, arriving Masterton in time for lunch, and leaving on the return journey at 5.12 p.m. A similar service will also be run fpr Wairarapa people visiting Wellington. The return tickets are available for three months, and give the opportunity for many to become acquainted with the Wairarapa.
