Destructive Bush Fires HEROIC FIGHTERS Countryside in Danger By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright (Rec. December 14, 7.35 p.m.) • Sydney, December 14. Every available man, woman, and child able to assist is engaged in fighting serious bush and grass fires which are raging along a front of 150 miles in western New South Wales. The flames arg racing through pastoral properties and are threatening the town of Cobar. The Are Is travelling at the rate of 30 miles a day, and has already destroyed thousands of acres bf grassland. The wind this forenoon veered from the west to the south, with the result that a wide stretch of country extending to Brewarrlna is in danger. The Pinchinara and Curranylpa stations have been swept by the flames. One of the stations is 150,000 acres and the other 200,000 acres.
