STRIKE THREATENED
Broken Hill Waterworks
Sydney, December 12. The secretary of the Engine Drivers and Firemen’s Association stated that the members of that body employed on tlie Broken Hill water supply system ■would cease work to-day if the recent wage reductions were not cancelled. The most serious aspect of the matter is that the whole town will suffer within twenty-four hours, if there is a cessation of work, and, if tlie strike lasts two days, the mines will be involved and about 3000 men thrown idle.
