RUGBY VISITORS

Australia v. Wellington TO-DAY’S BIG MATCH Two Strong Sides With two such strong sides as those announced to represent Australia and Wellington for to-day’s match at Athletic Park, spectators should enjoy a bright, exhilirating exhibition of Rugby. The visitors have not been very successful iu their matches in the South Island, but they have been greatly handicapped in playing on sodden grounds; given good weather for to-day’s match their backs can be relied upon to give a display equal to that of the famous British team when it was here last year. Wellington’s team is a strong one, and although, perhaps, the visiting paek may be a more versatile combination, there is no doubt that the home rearguard has plenty of speed, and is capable of proving a most dangerous attacking force. The forwards, on whom it would seem Wellington’s success depends, are a wellbalanced pack, and should give a good account of themselves. The curtain-raiser will be a fourth grade match, Town v. Country. Teams for the big match are as follow :— Australia. Full-back: Ross. Three-quarters: Hemingway, Towers, Herd, Cowper. Five-eighth: Palmer. Half-back: Malcolm (captain).
