HISTORIC FLAG
“Smithy’s” N Z. Flight PRESENTED TO AUCKLAND Dominion Special Service. Auckland, September 3. The flag which was carried by WingCommander Kingsford Smith and FlightLieutenant C. T. P. Ulm on their fl ghts to and from New Zealand is to find a permanent resting-place in the Auckland Town Hall. The flag was presented to Mr. L. J. Schmidt, New Zealand Tourist and Trade' Commissioner to Australia, at a meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Association in Sydney oh August 10, with the intention that Mr. Schm'dt should forward it to the Auckland City Council.
