HAUL OF DIAMONDS
“Siuash-and-Grab” Raiders ONLOOKERS WERE AFRAID (Rec. September 2,7.30 p.m.) Melbourne, September 2. Leaping from a motof-car in full view of scores of shoppers, two men smashed a jeweller’s window at Carlton and escaped with two trays of diamonds valued at £6OO. The onslookers were afraid to intercept the robbers, fearing that they were armed.
