RE-FORMING A ROAD
Suggestion to Council Believing that the re-forming of the upper portion of Cottle’s Road was a suitable relief work, the Belmont Progressive Association decided at its last meeting to place the matter before Councillor Dyer of the Hutt County Council. It was stated that the road had once been formed, but had not been used for many years, and had been washed out, but it could easily be re-formed, as no surveying was necessary. If the road were reformed, it would provide another outlet to Pahautanui. Some members expressed the opinion that the grade was better than the road at Haywards. Mr. C. T. Natusch wrote stating that there was a strong possibility of the Western Hutt Road being widened in the near ■future.
