CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Tuesday, the Ist September, 1931, the following resolution whs passed:—Whereas by a poll of the ratepayers taken on the 15th day of September, 1920, the Wellington City Council was authorised and empowered to raise under the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments the sum of One hundred and sixtyone thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£161,250) for the purpose of the construction of a new tunnel through Mount Victoria in the City of Wellington, AND WHEREAS the Council has raised the said sum of One hundred and sixty-one thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£161,250) by way of Special Loan known as “The Wellington City Mount Victoria Tunnel Loan, 1929,” AND WHEREAS the moneys so raised are found to be insufficient to complete the said undertaking and it is necessary to raise a further sum of Eleven thousand eight hundred pounds (£11,800) for the purpose of completing the undertaking, NOW THEREFORE the Wellington City Council in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, tind particularly by Section 19 of that AW, and in exercise and pursuance of all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf and pursuant to tho consent of the Governor-General in Council by Order-in-Council made pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and dated the 31st day of August, 1931, doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order: 1. To borrow a further sum of: Eleven thousand eight hundred pounds (£11,800) for the purpose of completing the said undertaking. 2. That a further Loan of Eleven thousand eight hundred pounds (£11,800), to be known as “The Wellington City Mount Victoria Tunnel Loan (1920) Supplementary Loan, 1931,” be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of completing the said undertaking. 3. That the interest on the said Special Loan b.i at. n rate not exceeding Five pounds (£5) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly, during the currency of tho Laid Loan, being a period ofi thirty-six (36) years from the First day of November, 1931. 4, That a Sinking Fund of one pound (£1) per centum per annum be established in connectiori with the said Loan., 5. That the security for the interest, sinking fund, and other charges and repayment of the said loan be a special rate of One hundredth of a penny (l-100d.) in the pound made and levied on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all ‘rateable property in the City of Wellington. 6. That no portion of such interest or sinking fund be paid out of such Loan moneys. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the resolution will bo submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the -Wellington City Council, to be hold on Monday, the sth October. 1031. at the Council Chamber.
