Napier’s annual shopping week commenced to-day, in dull weather Many, visitors are present, and the city is full of promenaders. A feature of the fixture is Hie display of locally-made goods. Gift schemes and other “stunts” are proving most successful. The Temeraire. an ocean going steamer, is discharging cargo at the breakwater. She is one of the largest vessels that ever berthed there. In spite of her size and a heavy storm outside, tlie vessel spent a comfortable week-end at the wharf. With the dredging which has been authorised, vessels of much deeper draught will be able to berth there,
