Annual Report and Election The annual meeting of the New Zealand Division of the Australasian Institute of Secretaries, held recently, was presided over by the president. Mr. G. W. Hutchison, mayor of Audkland. The report of the New Zealand Council stated that the past year had been one of satisfactory ' progress,. particularly when consideration was given to the severe financial depression. After expending £35 in assisting two members affected by the Hawke’s Bay earthquake disaster, there remained a small excess of revenue, which brought the accumulated funds to £314. Tlicre were 170 members on the divisional roll at the end of the year. A branch had been established at Wellington. Messrs. A. R. Hutchings and W. R. Mathieson. both of 'Wellington, had obtained first and second places respectively for Australia and New Zealand at the September examinations. It was announced that the Australasian conference would be held in Auckland in December. The following council was elected: — Messrs. G. W. Hutchison. H. B. Burnett, L. C. H. Dawson, T. E. Whitton. G. O’Halloran, N. Porter, J. M. Stokes (sitting members), J. Ward, H. G. Thomson, and H. B. Harper (new members). Mr. H. G.ilfillan was reappointed auditor.
