Elworthy Wins Downhill MOUNT COOK EVENTS , L < By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, August 28. The Aorangi Ski Club’s first annual sports concluded at Mount Cook to-day in perfect weather. The downhill open championship was won by Mr. H. Elworthy (British Ski Club), L. Mahan (Timaru) being second. The ski juifip was also won by Elworthy, with Mahan second. Racings in the slalom race were the same, giving Elworthy the champipliship with 9 points. Mahan being second, with 6. , ~. The women s downhill was won by Miss D. Mclntosh (Aorangi), Miss D. Mackie (Aorangi) being second, and Miss Wilson third. The women’s slalom was won by Miss O'Rourke (Christchurch Winter Sports Club), Miss D. Mclntosh second and Miss D. Mackie third. The women's ehampionship was won by Miss D. McIntosh with seven points, while Miss D. Mackie, six points, was second. The club championships were won by the Timaru Alpine Club (111 points), 1; Aorangi Ski Club (58 points), 2.
