TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, August 28, 1931, 4 p.m.. The cyclone to the eastward li centred beyond the Chatham Islands. A moderate anti-cyclone has been advancing slowly toward New Zealand, while a vigorous depression Is situated over eastern Australia. South-westerly winds, fresh at times on the east coast of the North Island, but elsewhere moderate, veering soon to northerly in the south, and freshening northerlies shortly setting in generally. Seas rough between Cape Campbell and East Cape; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate westerly veering to north-westerly winds In the eastern Tasman Sea, with moderate seas, but wind and sea rising In the southern portion.. i. uk. Weather fair to cloudy generally, but some passing showers probable on the East Coast between Banks Peninsula and East Cape. Temperatures becoming milder, but unsettled conditions developing shortly in western districts. -
