Dear Young Friends, I do hope you will like our stories and sketches this week. You will notice that I have used some “left-overs” from the Winter Page contributions, some, not because they were not among the very best, but because they arrived just afteri the printer had whisked everything away. Aren’t you all ever so glad that the holidays have come at last? Term holidays are great fun, don’t you think? First the excitement of packing for going away, and then a thrilling time at the seaside or in the country with hours and hours for pursuing your pet hobbies or playing your favourite games. Perhaps you are not going away, but somebody is coming to stay with you; then you’ll have to see that your favourite haunts are in ship-shape condition and that your pets look their very best, and you’ll have to plan ways of entertaining your visitors, which is quite as Exciting as visiting yourself—in another way. Of course, if you do-go away, you’ll write and tell me everything you see and do. Timothy Tuppeny and 1 are longing to hear of your adventures. Anyway, you have all finished your examinations and forgotten about them by now, so I am sure I shall have heaps 'of letters next week. My very best wishes for sunshine and happiness these holidays to everyone. —KIWI.
