Residential Nursery Effort “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world,” and the home that minds the children when a mother is in hospital may therefore claim' to help considerably in the ruling of the world.. The Women’s National Reserve Residential Nursery, Owen Street, claims to have helped hundreds of mothers back to health and strength. Many sick mothers are quite relieved of’ mental worry in connectiou with the . care of their children. / Such an institution can never be self-
supporting, since it ministers to that portion of the community where the family purse does not admit of many extras in the way of paying out. . All citizens will be given an opportunity to help in this fine work on Friday, when .the Women’s National Reserve will hold their “street day,” which is so well known as “Violet Day.” Stalls will be found at alj the busy corners, and there will be for sale large quantities of the emblem of the day—violets; spring flowers, jams, cakes, etc.,-will also be offered.
